The spiral-bound booklet is printed on 60# opaque paper, with the print size enlarged as needed to fit the 8 1/2 x 11 size. The front cover is a parchtex card stock, protected with a vinyl sheet. Communities currently listed for this area by the National Association of Counties include: Barboursville, Culloden, Huntington (part) (County Seat), Lesage, Milton, Ona, and Salt Rock. The source books include: West Virginia in History, Life, Literature and Industry by Morris Purdy Shawkey (1928); History of West Virginia by Virgil A. Lewis (1889); and Virginia, a Guide to the Mountain State, a 1941 WPA publication. Among the many topics are: William H. Cabell, the First Circuit Superior Court, Bishop Thomas A. Morris, Early Churchs; Formation of the county; the town of Guyandotte (now part of Huntington), Marshall College, Morris Harvey College, Tobacco growing; Newspapers; telephone service; West Viginia Orphans Home; and tours covering the town of Milton, Ona, Ceredo and Kenova; a history and tour of the city of Huntington with a map and points of interest, and other bits of history and trivia.
